Multifamily Buildings to Lead U.S. Construction Gains: Economy

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-02-13/multifamily-buildings-to-lead-u-s-construction-gains-economy.html

Multifamily Buildings will soon lead the U.S. in Construction Gains says an aritcle writen by Bob Willis on bloomberg business week. Michelle Meyer projects Approximately  260,000 apartement and town house projects will start in 2012, in short; construction work will presumably be back on the rise. This is the first time in seven years that housing construction will see growth from the previous year. 260,ooo construction projects would be a 45% growth of last year and the most since 2008. 260,000 is also one of the more mild estimates of projects starting.

Some other economists are projecting an even bigger gain at 74%, thats 310,000 new projects. Either way this shows that the housing economy is slowly learning to walk on it’s own two feet again. A 45% gain is not only going to help our econmy when people buy/rent these new buildings; it will provide a large amount of jobs for people in the construction field.

All of this is good news for people who are looking to start a career in just about any of the construction fields. Carpenters, lathers, operating engineers, plumbers and many other workers will be in great demand. Even jobs such as Pile Drivers may be needed for larger appartment buildings. The It seems at the rate things are going that the colapsed housing market is simply in the uncolapsing itself.
