324 Bobcat Compact Excavator

What we have above is the 324 bobcat compact excavator. This excavator holds its own in the compact market. The 324 Bobcat  uses the same hydraulic system as some of the larger excavators. The 324 has a reach of as far as 14 ft. You can get into just about any location with one of my favorite features. The undercariage retracts taking the excavator from a 54 inch footprint to a much more manuverable 39 inches. The excavator has a torque-limiting piston pump which can sense and react to hydraulic loads.

Some of it’s features include an optional closed canopy with heating and a radio. It has a glow plug cold start assist feature which helps on cold days by warming the fuel mixture in the engine. The bobcat 324 takes diesel fuel and has 13.9 horsepower at 2500 rpms. Its rated lift capacity is 1,032 pounds. The two features I think that really set this apart from other compact excavators is the retractable undercariage I mentioned above and the in track swing frame.
